Wave Bar San Diego
I am visiting my son who is in the Navy. I flew from Georgia at the last minute, so no arrangements had been made for Thanksgiving dinner. The Blue Wave had one reservation slot left for their Thanksgiving meal. It was awesome. Granted this was a special meal, but judging by the quality of this one, I'm sure everything on the menu must be delicious. We both had the New England seafood chowder with our meal which is on the regular menu. It was rich and full of seafood-shrimp, clams, etc. I could have eaten a whole bowl. The roasted carrots and brussel sprouts were excellent, crisp and smokey, not overdone and not raw, just perfect. The turkey was roasted to perfection, the mashed potatoes were creamy and perfectly seasoned, the stuffing was delicious and moist. The cranberry sauce (homemade) was I believe mixed with cherries cutting the tartness of the cranberries. The pumpkin bread pudding was delicious, if not very pumpkiny. The servers were courteous and prompt, until it was time for our check. It seemed to take a very long time and one of the other servers had to take it to ours when we finally got it, but all in all a great experience. We were seated outside on the patio and had a lovely view. The children playing "Marco Polo" in the pool below us got kind of loud which detracted a little from the ambiance, but not enough to really bother us. All in all, a great evening.
